2010 DAC Players & Pitchers of the Week:

For the Week of April 26-May 02, 2010:

Baseball – Player: Josh Tiede; Dakota State; Junior; Second Base; Newport, WA

Tiede batted .429 with a 1.357 slugging percentage in helping the Trojans gain a split of back-to-back doubleheaders against conference leader Dickinson State.  In 14 at bats, he had eight hits, one double, four home runs and two walks with four runs scored, eight RBI and a stolen base.

Baseball – Pitcher: Ryan Iliff; Jamestown College; Junior; Pitcher; Gillette, WY

Iliff tossed a complete game shutout in his only outing of the week as the Jimmies went 4-0.  He pitched five innings in his lone performance of the week, gave up no runs on two hits with five strikeouts and no walks.

 

For the Week of April 19-25, 2010:

Baseball – Player: Willie Sandez; Dickinson State; Junior; Designated Hitter; El Monte, CA

Sandez hit .611 with a slugging percentage of 1.778 in helping the Blue Hawks to a 4-2 week.  In six contests, he was 11 of 18 with three doubles, six home runs, nine runs scored, eight RBI and five base-on-balls.  In a 10-9 win over Mayville State on Friday, Sandez went 5 for 5 with a school record four home runs, a double, four RBI and five runs scored.

Baseball – Pitcher: Jared Donahue; Dakota State; Sophomore; Pitcher; Winner, SD

Donahue pitched a complete game shutout in a 2-0 win over Jamestown College as the Trojans went 2-2 for the week.  In his lone outing of the week, he gave up no runs on six hits in seven innings with seven strikeouts and three walks.

 

For the Week of April 12-18, 2010:

Baseball – Player: Erik Church; Jamestown College; Senior; Centerfield; Federal Way, WA

Church batted .560 with a 1.120 slugging percentage as the Jimmies went 5-1 for the week.  In six games, he was 14 of 25 at the plate with two doubles, four home runs, four walks, 12 runs scored, 15 RBI and was 5 for 5 on stolen base attempts.

Baseball – Pitcher: Roberto Rodgriguez; Valley City State; Senior; Pitcher; Chandler, AZ

Rodriguez pitched a complete game four hitter, helping the Vikings to their first conference victory, a 3-0 triumph over Dickinson State. He struck out five and walked three in the seven inning complete game.

 

For the Week of April 05-11, 2010:

Baseball – Player: Kevin Park; Dickinson State; Junior; Third Base; Los Angeles, CA

Park had three homers and 16 RBI as DSU went 4-2 on the week. He was 8 for 20 on the week with nine runs scored and one stolen base. Park leads the DAC with 50 RBI in 30 games.

Baseball – Pitcher: Roberto Gonzalez; Dickinson State; Junior; Pitcher; Brentwood, CA

Gonzalez pitched a complete game, nine-inning performance in a 7-2 win over Jamestown College in his lone outing of the week.  In the Blue Hawk victory, he gave up two runs on six hits with five strikeouts and five walks.

 

For the Week of March 29-April 04, 2010:

Baseball – Player: Chance Hargrove; Dakota State; Junior; Outfield; Newport, WA

Hargrove batted .471 with a 1.118 slugging percentage in the Trojans 5-0 week.  Playing in four of his team’s five games, he was 8 of 17 with two doubles, three home runs, nine runs scored and nine RBI.

Baseball – Pitcher: Nick Mutz; Dakota State; Sophomore; Pitcher; Rohnert Park, CA

Mutz went 2-0 with a save and a 2.53 ERA as the Trojans went 5-0 for the week.  In his three appearances, Mutz pitched 10.2 innings, allowed four runs, three earned runs on nine base hits with 13 strikeouts and five walks.

 

For the Week of March 22-28, 2010:

Baseball – Player: Jesse Ramirez; Jamestown College; Junior; Right Fielder; Santa Fe Springs, CA

Ramirez batted .563 with a 1.250 slugging percentage in helping the Jimmies to a 5-0 week.  In five contests, he was 9 of 16 at the plate with two doubles, three home runs; nine RBI, ten runs scored; a walk and was three-for-three on stolen base attempts.

Baseball – Pitcher: Jared Donahue; Dakota State; Sophomore; Pitcher; Winner, SD

Donahue pitched the Trojans to a 3-1 victory over Dickinson State in his lone outing of the week.  He threw six innings, allowed one earned run on three hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks.

 

For the Week of March 15-21, 2010:

Baseball – Player: Ryne Hornecker; Minot State; Sophomore; Shortstop; Minot, ND

Hornecker batted .500 and a .594 on-base percentage as the Beavers went 4-4 for the week.  In eight games, he was 13 of 26 with six walks, three doubles, eight runs scored, six RBI and was six-for-six in stolen base attempts.

Baseball – Pitcher: Chase Doremus; Dickinson State; Junior; Pitcher; Palmdale, CA

In his lone outing of the week, Doremus threw seven innings, gave up one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts and one walk in earning a 2-1 victory over Southwest, NM

For the week of March 08-14, 2010:

Baseball – Player: Kerry Boon; Minot State; Senior; Right Fielder; Deer Lodge, MT

Boon batted .476 with a 1.000 slugging percentage in helping the Beavers to a 4-2 record for the week.  Boon was 10 for 21 with four doubles, two triples and a home run with 13 runs batted in and six runs scored. 

Baseball – Pitcher: Alex Kreis; Jamestown College; Junior; Pitcher; Grand Forks, ND

In his lone outing of the week, Kreis pitched six innings, allowed no runs on three hits with eight strikeouts and two base-on-balls in picking up the victory.
