2001-02 Players of the Week:
For the week of February 11-17, 2002
Women: Stacie Schorsch, Dickinson State, 6-1, Junior, Center, Hometown: Richardton, ND
Schorsch scored 28 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, blocked 7 shots, pick up 7 steals and dished out 4 assists in leading the Blue Hawks to a pair of DAC wins. The 28 points also gave Schorsch the DSU single season scoring record with 509 points to date, breaking the old record of 495. In a 69-50 win over Mayville State, she had 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, 1 steal and 2 assists and in a 74-62 victory over Valley City State, she had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocked shots, 6 steals and 2 assists. For the week, Schorsch hit 11 of 23 from the field, including 1 of 2 on 3-point attempts and was 5 of 8 from the free throw line.

For the week of February 4-10, 2002
Women: Lindsey Eliason, Mayville State, 5-6, Junior. Guard, Hometown: Buxton, ND
Eliason helped the Comets go 2-0 with 43 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. In a 65-61 win over Jamestown College, she had 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals and followed up with a 28 point, 3 rebound, 1 assist, 4 steal performance in a 78-75 win over the University of Mary. In the two games, Eliason hit 13 of 29 from the field, including 2 of 8 on 3-pointers and was 15 of 16 from the free throw line.

For the week of January 28-February 3, 2002
Women: Natalie Brunner, University of Mary, 5-7, Freshman, Guard, Hometown: Bismarck
Brunner came off the Marauder bench in a pair of victories to score 36 points, grab 5 rebounds, hand out 6 assists and pick up a pair of steals. In a 70-55 triumph over 25th ranked Dickinson State, she had 19 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal and added 17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal in an 82-79 win over Minot State. In the two contests, Brunner was 12 of 18 from the field and 12 of 14 from the free throw line.

For the week of January 21-27, 2002
Women: Missy Leno, Valley City State, 5-10, Junior, Guard, Hometown: Bismarck, ND
Leno scored 52 points, handed out 8 assists, grabbed 4 rebounds and picked up 3 steals as the Vikings split a pair of DAC contests. In a 93-81 upset of then number twelve South Dakota Tech, she had 26 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals and then had 26 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds and a steal in a 75-70 setback to Black Hills State. In the two games, she was 24 of 39 from the field, including 4 of 7 from the 3-point stripe and was 0 of 3 from the free throw line.

Women: Jessica Zundel, University of Mary, 5-10, Freshman, Forward, Hometown: Jud, ND
Zundel had 48 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals as the Marauders picked up a pair of DAC victories. In a 68-64 win over Huron University, she had 23 points, 10 rebounds and a steal and then had 25 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in a 78-66 triumph over Dakota State. For the week, Zundel was 18 of 26 from the field and 12 of 14 from the free throw line.

For the week of January 7-13, 2002
Women: Shayley Bebee, University of Mary, 6-1, Senior, Center, Hometown: Malta, MT
Bebee had 32 points, 13 rebounds 1 assist, 2 blocked shots and 2 steals in a pair of Marauder DAC wins. She had 15 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot in a 92-65 win over Mayville State and in an 81-64 victory over Valley City State, she had 17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 blocked shot and 2 steals. For the week, Bebee was 14 of 20 on field goal attempts and was 4 of 6 from the free throw line.

For the week of December 31, 2001-January 6, 2002
Women: Kayla Blom, Minot State, 5-9, Senior, Guard, Hometown: Lignite, ND
Blom led the Beavers to a pair of conference wins at home with 47 points, 8 rebounds, 15 assists, 3 steals and a blocked shot. In an 81-62 win over the University of Mary, she had 28 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal and a blocked shot and then had 19 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals in a 67-65 triumph over Jamestown College. In the victories, Blom was 16 of 29 from the field, including 9 of 11 from the 3-point arc and hit 6 of 9 free throw attempts.

For the week of December 10-16, 2001
Women: Kayla Blom, Minot State, 5-9, Senior, Guard, Hometown: Lignite, ND
Blom helped the Beavers sweep a pair of DAC road contests with 40 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals. In a 59-48 triumph over Dakota State, she had 26 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals and added 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal in a 79-72 victory over Huron University. For the week, Blom connected on 16 of 32 field goal attempts, including 5 of 13 on 3-pointers and was 3 of 3 from the free throw line.

For the week of December 3-9, 2001
Women: Stacie Schorsch, Dickinson State, 6-1, Junior, Center, Hometown: Richardton, ND
Schorsch scored 42 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, blocked 10 shots and added 5 steals and 3 assists as the Blue Hawks went 1-1 on the week. In a 71-64 setback to South Dakota Tech, she had 21 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocked shots, 3 steals and an assist and had 21 points, 12 rebounds, 5 blocked shots, 2 steals and 2 assists in a 67-55 win over Black Hills State. In the two DAC contests, she hit 15 of 30 from the field, including 3 of 5 on 3-pointers and was 10 of 12 from the free throw line.

For the week of November 26-December 2, 2001
Women: Molly Anderson, Valley City State, 5-5, Senior, Guard, Hometown: Watford City, ND
Anderson scored 40 points, handed out 11 assists, grabbed 11 rebounds and picked up 4 steals as Valley City State opened conference play with a pair of victories. In a 66-55 win over Dickinson State, she had 25 points, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot and then recorded 15 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in a 77-63 conquest of Minot State. In the two games, Anderson was 15 of 32 from the field, including 7 of 16 from the 3-point stripe and hit 3 of 4 free throws.
