For November 3, 2001:
Offensive: Nick Walker, Dickinson State, 6-2, 201, Jr, QB, Hometown: Missoula, MT
Walker hit 14 of 27 passes for 270 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed 10 times for 41 yards as Dickinson State wrapped up their season with a 34-28 win over Jamestown College.  In the game, Walker set school records for single season passing yardage (2006), completions (137) and pass attempts (223).  He also finished the year with 24 TD passes, which is second best in DiSU history.
Defensive: Chris Murdock, University of Mary, 6-1, 210, So, DB, Hometown: Billings, MT
Murdock returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown as the Marauders captured the Dakota Athletic Conference championship and an automatic berth into the NAIA playoffs with a 40-8 triumph over Valley City State.  Along with the interception, Murdock also had 5 solo tackles, 5 assists, 1 tackle for a loss and 2 pass break-ups.
 
For October 27, 2001:
Offensive: Jeremy Peschel, Valley City State, 6-0, 195, Sr, QB, Hometown: Wahpeton, ND
Peschel accounted for 293 yards total offense and 4 touchdowns in just one half of   play in the Vikings 51-13 win over South Dakota Tech.  He completed 9 of 16 passes for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns and also rushed 3 times for 82 yards and a score.   His TD passes were from 5, 26 and 20 yards and his scoring run was from 49 yards.   In the triumph, Peschel became VCSU's career total offense leader with 7,738 toal yards.
Defensive: Brent Miller, Valley City State, 6-0, 245, Sr, DL, Hometown Fargo, ND
Miller had 3 quarterback sacks and 4 tackles for a loss of 27 yards as the third ranked Vikings remained unbeaten with a 51-13 win over South Dakota Tech.  Miller also had 6 solo tackles and 5 assists.
 
For October 20, 2001:
Offensive: Nick Walker, Dickinson State, 6-2, 201, Jr, QB, Hometown: Missoula, MT
Walker set a school record for touchdown passes in a game with five as the Blue Hawks rallied to defeat Minot State 35-34.  The previous record of four was shared by Walker with three others.  In the contest, he completed 11 of 21 passes for 253 yards, five TD's and no interceptions and also carried the ball 12 times for 19 yards.
Defensive: Blake Seeds, Black Hills State, 6-4, 285, DT, Hometown: New Castle, WY
Seeds had three tackles for a loss of 14 yards and one quarterback sack for a minus-six yards in the Yellowjackets 30-17 triumph over South Dakota Tech.  He also had four solo tackles and four assists in the game.
 
For October 13, 2001
Offensive: Josh Gerik, Black Hills State, 6-4, 200, So, QB, Hometown: Big Piney, WY
Gerik passed for 355 yards and three touchdowns in the Yellowjackets 30-22 win over Mayville State.  He completed 25 of 45 with just one interception.
Defensive: John Fleener, Jamestown College, 6-0, 235, Jr, LB, Hometown: Ventura, CA
Fleener led the Jimmies in tackles in a 28-21 setback to Huron University.  He had six solo tackles, 10 assists, one quarterback sack, one tackle for a loss and a pass breakup.
 
For October 6, 2001:
Offensive: Derek Trudell, Minot State, 6-1, 214, Jr, RB, Hometown: Sidney, MT
Trudell accounted for 308 yards and three touchdowns in the Beavers 42-18 win over Dakota State.  He had 227 yards rushing on 35 carries and two touchdowns and added six receptions for 81 yards and a TD.
Defensive: Coly Rush, Dickinson State, 6-3, 215, So, DE, Hometown: Wolf Point, MT
Rush recorded three sacks for a minus-28 yards and four tackles for a loss of minus-29 yards in the Blue Hawks 36-35 triumph over Black Hills State.  He also had two solo tackles, two assists, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
 
For September 29, 2001:
Offensive: Tom Nielsen, Dakota State, 6-6, 225, Fr, QB, Hometown: Madison, SD
Nielsen came off the bench to lead the Trojans to a 32-23 win over Black Hills State.   He completed 21 of 42 passes for 310 yards, three touchdowns and one interception and added 9 yards on eight carries and two scores on the ground.  Nielsen connected with seven different receivers and sealed the victory with a 70 yard scoring strike.
Defensive: Justin Russotti, University of Mary, 5-10, 205, Jr, LB, Hometown: Sebastopol, CA
Russotti had five solo tackles, ten assists, one quarterback sack and two tackles for a loss in helping the Marauders stay unbeaten with a 27-26 overtime win over Dickinson State.
 
For September 22, 2001:
Offensive: Adam LeGette, Jamestown College, 6-0, 225, Sr, RB, Hometown: Woodriver, IL
LeGette rushed for 178 yards on 29 carries and scored two fourth quarter touchdowns as the Jimmies defeated Minot State 40-18.  The 178 yards and 29 carries were both season highs.
Defensive: Mikkey White, Jamestown College, 6-0, 180, Jr, DB, Hometown: Jamestown, ND
White had three solo tackles, two assistsw, one interception, a fumble recovery and one pass break-up in the Jimmis 40-18 triumph over Minot State.  His interception came in the first quarter and led to a touchdown and his fumble reocovery led to a fourth quarter Jimmies' score.
 
For September 15, 2001:
Offensive: Nick Walker, Dickinson State, 6-2, 201, Jr, QB, Hometown: Missoula, MT
Walker accounted for 230 of the Blue Hawks 507 yards of total offense as DSU topped Mayville State, 44-14.  He completed ten of eleven passes for 131 yards, three TD's and no interceptions and also rushed eight times for 99 yards and a score.
Defensive: Dallas Stuker, University of Mary, 5-8, 170, Jr, DB, Hometown: Helena, MT
Stucker intercepted two passes in the Marauders 42-3 triumph over Huron University.   He also had one solo tackle, three assists, one pass breakup and had 43 return yards on his two interceptions.
 
For September 8, 2001:
Offensive: Mark Fabian, Valley City State, 6-3, 210, So, QB, Hometown: Roseau, MN
Fabian entered the game in the second quarter and accounted for 236 yards and five touchdowns in the Vikings 42-to-0 triumph over Minot State.  He connected on 11 of 20 passes for 192 yards, five touchdowns, one interception and added another 44 yards on the ground on four carries.  Fabian's five touchdown passes tied a Valley City State record set last season by Jeremy Peschel.
Defensive: Josh Ermer, Jamestown College, 6-0, 185, Jr, DB, Hometown: Garrison, ND
Ermer stopped three Dakota State drives with interceptions deep in Jimmie territory in a 39-to-34 Jamestown College triumph.  He also had two solo tackles, one assist, one tackle for a loss and five pass breakups.
 
For September 1, 2001:
Offensive: Davin Leier, Jamestown College, 6-4, 210, Sr, QB, Hometown: Esmond, ND
Leier accounted for 299 yards of offense and four touchdowns as the Jimmies fell to third ranked Northwestern, Iowa, 28-to-27 in overtime.  Leier was 11 of 22 passing with three touchdowns, no interceptions and 231 yards and added 68 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown on the ground.
Defensive: Kurt Jensen, Black Hills State, 6-3, 225, Sr, DE, Hometown: Pollock, SD
Jensen had three sacks for a minus-17 yards in the Yellowjackets 35-to-28 season opening victory over Dakota Wesleyan, SD.  He also had six solo tackles and three assists.
