For the Week of November 3-9, 2002
Offensive: Darrik Trudell; Minot State; 6-1; 216; Senior; Running Back; Sidney, MT
Trudell accounted for 270 yards of offense in leading the thirteenth ranked Beavers to a 37-20 win over number twenty-one Valley City State, securing a tie for the DAC Championship.  In the contest, Trudell had 39 carries for 251 yards and two touchdowns and four receptions for 19 yards.
Defensive: Jay Lies; Jamestown College; 5-10; 195; Senior; Defensive Back; Wahpeton, ND
Lies helped the Jimmie defense hold Dakota State to just 70 yards in total offense in their 50-0 season ending triumph.  In the win, Lies had five solo and two assist tackles, including two tackles for a loss of five yards.  He also had an interception and one pass breakup.
 
For the Week of October 27-November 2, 2002:
Offensive: Tim Garica; University of Mary; 6-2; 190; Junior; Quarterback; Modesto, CA
Garica threw for 473 yards and six touchdowns in leading the Marauders to a 40-34 come-from-behind win over Valley City State.  In the contest, Garcia was 28 of 46 for 473 yards, six touchdowns and one interception.
Defensive: Quentin Robinson; Huron University; 6-2; 185; Junior; Defensive Back; Brazos, TX
Robinson had a pair of interceptions in the Screaming Eagles 13-7 win over Black Hills State.  In the victory, Robinson had three solo tackles, two assists, four pass breakups and two interceptions, which he returned for a total of 55 yards.
 
For the Week of October 20-26, 2002:
Offensive: Jimmy Newton; Valley City State; 6-0; 220; Junior; Running Back; Fairbanks, Alaska
Newton rushed for 248 yards and scored both touchdowns as the Vikings survived an upset scare by South Dakota Tech with 13-7 double overtime victory.  Newton rushed for 248 yards on 42 carries and caught one pass for a yard.  His TD runs came from one and two yards.
Defensive: Josh Kasowski; Valley City State; 5-10; 195; Sophomore; Linebacker; Valley City, ND
Kasowski had ten tackles in the Vikings 13-7 double overtime win over South Dakota Tech.   In the contest, he had eight solo tackles and two assists, including two quarterback sacks and two tackles for a loss of 11 yard.  In addition, Kasowski forced two fumbles, recovered a fumble and recovered a block punt.
 
For the Week of October 13-19, 2002:
Offensive: Nick Walker; Dickinson State; 6-2; 205; Senior; Quarterback; Missoula, MT
After helping DSU to a 23-14 win over then number ten Valley City State last week, Walker led the Blue Hawks to a 56-28 win over number eleven Minot State and set two school records in the process.  Against the Beavers, Walker was 14 of 21 passing for 285 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions and also rushed 16 times for 70 yards.   His TD passes covered 24, 29, 22 and 26 yards.  In the win over Minot State, Walker set school records for career touchdown passes (54) and career passing yardage (over 4,600).
Defensive: Kyle Wilson; Huron University; 6-2; Junior; Defensive Tackle; Sioux Falls, SD
Wilson had 14 total tackles as the Screaming Eagles topped Dakota State 37-13.  In the victory, He had ten solo tackles and four assists including two tackles for a loss of 19 yards.
 
For the Week of October 6-12, 2002:
Offensive: Kenny Smith; Minot State; 6-1; 185; Senior; Quarterback; El Monte, CA
Smith ran for two touchdowns and threw for two in leading the #19 Beavers to a 35-21 win over the third ranked University of Mary Marauders.  In the contest, Smith was 22 of 34 for 247 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and rushed ten times for 35 yards and two scores.
Defensive: Derek Colling; South Dakota Tech; 6-1; 220; Junior; Linebacker; Laramie, WY
Colling had 13 tackles in the Hardrockers 17-13 road win over Dakota State.  In the victory, Colling had 10 solo tackles and three assists including a sack and two tackles for a loss and also returned a fumble 35 yards.
 
For the Week of September 29-October 5, 2002:
Offensive:  Adam Eckert; Dickinson State; 5-11; 165; Sophomore; Wide Receiver; Kelowna, British Columbia
Eckert tied school records for touchdown receptions in a game (4) and touchdowns in a game (5) as the Blue Hawks topped Black Hills State, 43-6.  Eckert had six receptions for 147 yards and four touchdowns and four punt returns for 89 yards, including a  70 yard return for a score.  His TD receptions came from 31, 20, 36 and 24 yards.
Defensive: Jay Lies; Jamestown College; 5-10; 190; Senior; Safety; Wahpeton, ND
Lies had eight solo tackles, including two for-a-loss and five assists in the Jimmies 23-19 win over Mayville State.  Lies also had two forced fumbles in the contest.
 
For the Week of September 22-28, 2002:
Offensive: Nick Walker; Dickinson State; 6-2; 205; Senior; Quarterback; Missoula, MT
Walker set a school record for pass attempts in a game (41) and tied the school record for completions in a game (24) in the Blue Hawks' 30-28 setback to the fourth ranked University of Mary.  In the loss, Walker was 24 of 41 for 242 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.  He also carried the ball seven times for seven yards and a TD.
Defensive: Josh Komarek; Valley City State; 5-10; 217; Senior; Linebacker; Seward, AK
Komarek had six solo tackles and eight assists as the Vikings topped their rivals from Jamestown College, 24-13.  Komareck recorded three tackles-for-a-loss, one quarterback sack, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
 
For the week of September 15-21, 2002:
Offensive: Harry Mills; Minot State; 5-11; 170; Junior; Wide Receiver; Las Vegas, NV
Mills accounted for 209 yards in the Beavers 27-8 win over Jamestown College.  He had six receptions for 168 yards and two touchdowns and also had one rushing attempt for 41 yards.
Defensive: Frank Sowitch; Valley City State; 6-0; 235; Senior; Defensive End; Minot, ND
Sowitch had a solid performance in the Vikings 35-6 triumph over Black Hills State.   In the contest, he had three solo tackles, two assists, one sack, two tackles for a loss of nine yards, three pass breakups and one interception, which he returned 27 yards for a touchdown.
 
For the week of September 8-14, 2002:
Offensive: Kenny Smith; Minot State; 6-1; 185; Senior; Quarterback; El Monte, CA
Smith passed for 447 yards and six touchdowns in the Beavers' 59-33 DAC opening triumph over Black Hills State.  He hit 14 of 27 passes and no interceptions.   Five of his completions were over 50 yards.  Smith's TD passes came from 15, 12, 26, 30, 75 and 80 yards.
Defensive: D.J. Fritel; Jamestown College; 5-11; 235; Junior; Linebacker; Watford City, ND
Fritel had six solo tackles, ten assists and a sack for minus-seven yards in the Jimmies 42-14 conference win over South Dakota Tech.  Fritel also had three tackles for a loss, one pass breakup and an interception, which he returned 61 yards to set up a Jimmies' touchdown.
 
For the week of September 1-7, 2002:
Offensive: Nick Walker; Dickinson State; 6-2; 205; Senior; Quarterback; Missoula, MT
Walker accounted for 311 of the Blue Hawks' 422 yards of total offense in their 35-14 season opening victory over Montana State-Northern.  Walker was 15 of 26 passing for 240 yards, four touchdowns and one interception and added 71 yards rushing on nine carries.   His four TD tosses covered 51, 68, 11 and 17 yards.
Defensive: Grant Haugland; Dickinson State; 6-5; 225; Senior; Strong Safety; Ambrose, ND
Haugland had four solo tackes, three assists, one tackle for a loss of six yards, one pass breakup, one interception, one fumble recovery and a forced fumble in helping Dickinson State to a 35-14 win over Montana State-Northern.
