2005 DAC Football Players of the Week:
For the Week of November 7-13, 2005:
Offensive: Ray Caylor; Valley City State; 5-9; 170; Senior; Wide Receiver; Washburn, ND
Caylor caught nine passes for 92 yards in the Vikings 34-31 setback to Azusa Pacific, CA.
Defensive: Joe Maresh; Valley City State; 6-2; 215; Junior; Defensive End; Glencoe, MN
Maresh returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown, broke up two passes and had three solo tackle, including one for-a-loss and six assists in the Vikings season ending 34-31 loss to Azusa Pacific, CA.  He also set the school record by recording 22 tackles for loss in the season.
Special Teams: Chad Lueck; Valley City State; 6-3; 215; Senior; Quarterback/Punter; Lidgerwood, ND
Lueck contributed to the field position battle as he averaged 40.8 yards a punt including a 70 yard punt and three punts downed inside the 10 yard line in a 34-31 loss to Azusa Pacific, CA.
 
For the Week of October 31-November 6, 2005:
Offensive: Chad Lueck; Valley City State; 6-3; 215; Senior; Quarterback; Lidgerwood, ND
Lueck threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in leading the Vikings to a 29-21 win over Dakota State, clinching a share of the Dakota Athletic Conference title with Dickinson State.  In the contest, he was 22 of 334 for 249 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions and also ran the ball seven times for ten yards and a score.
Defensive: Chauncey Calhoun; Valley City State; 6-0; 195; Freshman; Defensive Back; Gelndale, AZ
Calhoun intercepted a pass on the final play of the game to preserve a 29-21 win over Dakota State and a share of the Dakota Athletic Conference championship with Dickinson State.  He also had four solo tackles, including one for a loss, three assisted tackles and caught a 40 yard pass on a fake punt.
Special Teams: Bryan Loweree; Jamestown College; 5-8; 155; Sophomore; Kicker; Manteca, CA
Loweree set a Jamestown College record with a 50 yard field goal in the Jimmies' 24-6 season ending victory over South Dakota Tech.  He also was 3 for 3 on extra points and had one punt for 32 yards.
 
For the Week of October 24-30, 2005:
Offensive: Tommy Hofer; Dakota State; 5-10; 183; Senior; Wide Receiver; Lennox, SD
In the Trojans' 21-17 win over Jamestown, Hofer had 10 catches for 220 yards with 1 TD, averaging 22.0 yards per reception as DSU improved to 3-3 in DAC action and 4-5 overall.
Defensive: Steadman Mathis; Dickinson State; 5-10; 210; Junior; Linebacker; Seattle, WA
Mathis had seven solo tackles, including one sack and ten assists in the Blue Hawks 48-0 win over South Dakota Tech.  Mathis also had an interception, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and broke up a pair of passes as the Blue Hawks picked up their second consecutive shutout and third of the season.

For the Week of October 17-23, 2005:
Offensive: Art Solis; Dakota State; 6-0; 196; Senior; Quarterback; Merced, CA
Solis accounted for 327 yards in the Trojans 21-14 win over Mayville State.  In the contest, he was 14 of 23 passing for 193 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions and added another 134 yards rushing on 21 carries.
Defensive: Kylan Klauser; Dickinson State; 6-2; 235; Senior; Defensive End; Baker, MT
Klauser intercepted a pass and returned it fifteen yards for a score, his third touchdown of the season, to seal the Blue Hawks 16-0 victory over Jamestown College.  He also had five total tackles, including one-and-a-half tackles-for-a-loss, and four pass deflections in helping keep DSU's conference title hopes alive with the win.
Special Teams: No nominees.
 
For the Week of October 10-16, 2005:
Offensive: Greg Godfrey; Mayville State; 5-7; 160; Freshman; Wide Receiver; Houston, TX
Godfrey had 10 receptions for 182 yards and scored both of the Comets touchdowns as Mayville State snapped a 22 game conference losing streak with a 15-12 road victory over Minot State.  He also had two rushing attempts for five yards.
Defensive: B.J. Ingram; Valley City State; 6-2; 230; Senior; Defensive End; Cocoa, FL
Ingram recorded three sacks and a total of 4.5 tackles for a loss of 31 yards as the Vikings shutout South Dakota Tech 44-0.  In the victory he recorded five solo tackles and three assists as VCSU held the Hardrockers to just 13 yards passing.
Special Teams: Brad Elliot; Valley City State; 5-9; 156; Freshman; Wide Receiver; Valley City, ND
Elliots returned a blocked punt 30 yards for a score as Valley City State topped South Dakota Tech 44-0.
 
For the Week of October 3-9, 2005:
Offensive: Larry Aldridge; Dickinson State; 5-7; 180; Senior; Running Back; Brinkley, AR
Aldridge had 230 all purpose yards and three touchdowns in leading the Blue Hawks to a 29-7 victory over Minot State.  In the DSU homecoming triumph, he had 32 carries for 182 yards and three TD's and added a pair of receptions for 48 yards.
Defensive: Kevin McElvaney; Dickinson State; 5-9; 175; Senior; Defensive Back; Scobey, MT
McElvaney had a pair of interceptions in the Blue Hawks 29-7 homecoming victory of Minot State.  In the contest, he also had three pass deflections, one solo tackle and one assisted tackle.
Special Teams: No nominees.
 
For the Week of September 26-October 2, 2005:
Offensive: Art Solis; Dakota State; 6-0; 196; Senior; Quarterback; Merced, CA
Solis accounted for 356 yards in the Trojans 42-7 triumph over South Dakota Tech.   He was 17 of 29 passing for 232 yards, four touchdowns and one interception and also ran the ball seven times for 124 yards in Dakota State's first conference win of the season. Solis was also named NAIA Offensive Player of the Week.
Defensive: Shaun Sideris; Minot State; 6-2; 210; Junior; Linebacker; Sammamaish, WA
Sideris had nine solo tackles and five assists in the Beavers 14-10 come from behind victory of the University of Mary.  Among his 14 tackles were two tackles for a loss of seven yards, one of which was a sack.
Special Teams: Tristan Jones; Dickinson State; 5-10; 200; Freshman; Punter; St. Albert, Alberta, Canada
Jones had five punts for 209 yards (41.8 ypp) including a 62 yarder in the Blue Hawks 13-6 win over seventeenth ranked Valley City State.
 
For the Week of September 19-25, 2005
Offensive: Jamar Culver; Minot State; 6-4; 230; Senior; Quarterback; Lancaster, CA
Culver was 13-for-20 passing for 214 yards and three touchdowns and also ran the ball six times for 20 yards in leading the Beavers to a 24-18 win over Dakota State.  His touchdown tosses came from 43, 40 and 34 yards.
Defensive: No nominees.
Special Teams: No nominees.
 
For the Week of September 12-18, 2005:
Offensive: Chad Lueck; Valley City State; 6-3; 215; Senior; Quarterback; Lidgerwood, ND
Lueck was 27 of 43 for 243 yards and two touchdowns including the game winner with 9 seconds left to play in the Vikings 20-19 victory over the Jimmies in the 100th meeting between the two schools.
Defensive: Joe Maresh; Valley City State; 6-2; 215; Junior; Defensive End; Glencoe, MN
In the 100th meeting between the Vikings and the Jimmies, Maresh recorded 12 tackles including 6.5 tackles for loss and three sacks totaling 30 yards in loss in helping VCSU to a 20-19 victory. He also forced a fumble. Maresh was also named NAIA Defensive Player of the Week.
Special Teams: Reuben Mastin; Mayville State; 6-1; 175; Senior; Safety; San Jose, CA
Mastin blocked an extra point attempt, scooped up the ball and raced 90 yards for a 2-pt defensive conversion to extend MSU's lead to 18-13. He also made one solo tackle on kick-off coverage in the Comets 19-18 loss to South Dakota Tech.
 
For the Week of September 05-11, 2005:
Offensive: Greg Godfrey; Mayville State; 5-7; 160; Freshman; Wide Receiver; Houston, TX
Godfrey had six catches for 154 yards and three touchdowns in a 58-21 loss against the University of Mary.  Two of Godfrey's three TD catches were for 65 yards.
Defensive: Joe Maresh; Valley City State; 6-2; 215; Junior; Defensive End; Glencoe, MN
Maresh recorded 12 tackles including 5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks while also forcing a fumble in Valley City's 19-14 win at Black Hills State.
Special Teams: Robert Stevens, Mayville State; 6-2, 190; Junior; Punter; Modesto, CA
Stevens averaged 40.6 yards per punt in five punts with a long of 60 yards.  He also had two punts downed inside the 20 yard line, one at the five and another at the thirteen.
 
For the Week of August 29-September 04, 2005:
Offensive: Greg Godfrey; Mayville State; 5-7; 160; Freshman; Wide Receiver; Houston, TX
Godfrey caught eight passes for 162 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns in helping the Comets snap a 20 game losing skid with a 20-8 triumph over Minnesota-Morris. 
Defensive: Joe Maresh; Valley City State; 6-2; 215; Junior; Defensive End; Glencoe, MN
Maresh recorded six tackles including three sacks and two more tackles-for-loss in a 10-to-3 Vikings' victory over Gustavus Adolphus, MN.
Special Teams: No nominees.
