Softball Player/Pitcher of the Week for May 1-7, 2006:
Player: Tiffany Saatzer; Dickinson State; Junior; Outfielder; Laurel, MT
Saatzer batted .444 as the Lady Blue Hawks captured the DAC Tournament crown.  In three conference tournament games, she was 4 for 9 with a triple, three runs scored and one RBI. 
Pitcher: Karalea Morris; Valley City State; Senior; White Rock, BC, Canada
Morris went 5-0 on the week, including 4-0 at the DAC tournament, throwing four straight shutouts versus DAC opponents to lead VCSU to the championship game of the DAC tournament. In the five games, she allowed only two earned runs on nine hits, walked nine and struck out 62 in 35 innings pitched to up her season total to 272.
Softball Player/Pitcher of the Week for April 24-30, 2006:
Player: Ashley Nelson, Mayville State; Freshman; Outfielder; Grand Forks, ND
Nelson batted .765 with a 1.353 slugging percentage in helping lead the Lady Comets to five wins in six games.  For the week, she was 13 for 17 with a double, three home runs, eight runs scored, eight RBI, three walks and a stolen base.   Nelson was also named Region III Player of the Week.
Pitcher: Karalea Morris; Valley City State; Senior; White Rock, BC, Canada
Morris went 2-1 with an ERA of 2.58.  She gave up seven runs on nine hits in 19 innings with 37 strikeouts and two walks.  Her week was highlighted by a five inning perfect game with 13 strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Dakota Wesleyan, SD.  During the week, Morris broke the school record for strikeouts in a season with 210 and helped the Vikings set a school record for wins in a season with 25.
 
Softball Player/Pitcher of the Week for April 17-23, 2006:
Player: Courtney Blanleil; Dickinson State; Junior; Catcher; Kelowna, BC, Canada
Blanleil batted .379 with a .655 slugging percentage as the Blue Hawks won seven of eight games on the week.  For the week, she went 11 of 29 with two doubles, two home runs, seven RBI, five runs scored, three walks and five stolen bases in five attempts.
Pitcher: Mehgan Shaw; Dickinson State; Freshman; Regina, SK
Shaw went 3-0 with a no decision and a 1.93 ERA in the week for the Blue Hawks.   Shaw pitched 25.1 innings in four games and gave up seven runs on 21 hits while striking out 19 and walking four. 
 
Softball Player/Pitcher of the Week for April 10-16, 2006: 
Player: Jesse Klingenberg; Dakota State; Junior; Third Baseman; Colton, SD
Klingengberg hit a red hot .722 with a .944 slugging percentage in helping the Lady Trojans to a 4-2 record.  In the six contests, she had a hit in each of the six game, going 13-18 with four doubles, eight runs scored, three RBI and two-for-two in stolen base attempts.
Pitcher: Stephanie Brakel; Dakota State; Junior; Eagan, MN
Brakel went 2-1 with 1.81 ERA and 4 complete games in helping the Trojans go 4-2. For the week, Brakel gave up nine runs, seven earned, on 25 hits, struck out 13 batters and walked three in 27 innings pitched as she raised her season record to 15-12.
 
Softball Player/Pitcher of the Week for April 3-9, 2006:
Player: Nicole Marcoux; Jamestown College; Freshman; Outfielder/Pitcher; Winnipeg, MB
Marcoux batted .458 with five home runs, 11 RBI and ten runs scored with three walks and a pair of stolen bases in helping the Jimmies to a 5-3 record for the week.  She highlighted the week with a school records for home runs in a game with three and RBI in a game with seven in an 8-0 win at Mayville State, a game in which she also threw a complete game three hit shutout.  Marcoux was also named NAIA Region III Player of the Week.
Pitcher: Danielle Yunto; Jamestown College; Junior; Menomonee Falls, WI
Yunto allowed one run on seven hits, struck out out 25 and walked seven in 22.2 innings pitched in going 3-0 for the week.  Her week was highlighted by an eight inning no hit 1-0 victory over Valley City State, setting a school record for the longest no hitter.  Yunto was also named NAIA Region III Pitcher of the Week and NAIA National Pitcher of the Week.
 
Softball Player/Pitcher of the Week for March 27-April 2, 2006:
Player: Kelli Unrein; Valley City State; Junior 1st Baseman; Baker, MT
Unrein went 14 of 26 at the plate for a .538 batting average in helping the Vikings to a 7-1 record for the week.  In eight games, she had one double, five home runs, five runs scored, 12 RBI and one walk. 
Pitcher: Mehgan Shaw; Dickinson State; Freshman; Regina, SK
Shaw pitched shutout ball over 17 innings in going 3-0 for the week as the Lady Blue Hawks won six of six contests.  In the three games, she gave up no runs on nine base hits with 27 strike outs and just one walk.  Shaw was also named the NAIA Region III Pitcher of the Week.
